Game description:

Developed by Capcom in 1993, Saturday Night Slam Masters is an SNES sports-fighting game that blends professional wrestling with arcade-style combat mechanics. Featuring iconic character designs by Tetsuo Hara and a roster that includes Final Fight‘s Mike Haggar, the game stands out with its fast-paced action, distinct wrestling styles, and command-input special moves.

How to Play

The objective is to deplete your opponent’s stamina meter and secure a three-count pin or a submission, or to throw them out of the ring for a twenty-count. You can execute strikes, dive off the top rope, and initiate grapples to perform powerful throws.

Tips

  • Mash to win grapples: When you lock up with an opponent, winning the grapple often comes down to rapidly pressing the attack buttons before they do.
  • Master command inputs: Because the game was built by Capcom’s fighting game division, each wrestler has Street Fighter-style special moves (like quarter-circles) that deal massive damage.
  • Fight outside the ring: You can throw opponents out of the ring and follow them over the ropes to continue the brawl, but make sure to return before the referee’s twenty-count ends.
