Rescue Yoshi is a 2022 ROM hack of the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES, created by developer NesInvent. Serving as a direct sequel to the earlier hack Rescue Luigi, this adventure flips the script by putting you in control of Luigi as he sets out to save Yoshi from Bowser. The hack features four completely new worlds to explore, updated graphics inspired by Garuna’s Promotion Mario Bros., and a refreshed soundtrack utilizing music from SMB: Genyuu.
How to Play
Your goal is to guide Luigi through four challenging worlds, navigating platforming hazards and defeating Bowser’s minions to ultimately rescue Yoshi. The game uses standard NES platformer controls: use the D-pad (arrow keys) to move and crouch, A (Z or X) to jump, and B (X or Z) to run and shoot fireballs when powered up. Press Start (Enter) to pause the game.
