Game description:

Racket Attack is a classic tennis game released for the NES in 1988 by Jaleco, originally known in Japan as Moero!! Pro Tennis. It features an isometric perspective of the court and allows players to choose from 16 different male and female characters, each with their own unique attributes for speed, power, and stamina. The game includes both singles and doubles modes, as well as a tournament mode complete with a password system to save your progress.

How to Play

The objective is to outscore your opponent in a standard match of tennis. Use the arrow keys to move your character around the court. Press Z (A button) for standard groundstrokes and volleys, and use X (B button) to execute lobs. Press Enter (Start) to pause the game.

Tips

  • Pay attention to character stats when selecting a player. A character with high stamina will maintain their speed and shot power longer into a gruelling match.
  • Avoid constantly sprinting around the court if you do not need to, as your player’s stamina will gradually deplete, making them sluggish and less effective later in the set.
  • Use the lob (X key) strategically to force your opponent to the back of the court when they charge the net.
