Nobunaga no Yabou – Sengoku Gunyuu Den (Japan) is a classic turn-based grand strategy game developed by Koei for the NES. Released as the second entry in the esteemed Nobunaga’s Ambition series, it tasks you with unifying feudal Japan during the Sengoku period through military conquest, resource management, and careful diplomacy.
How to Play
Your objective is to conquer rival daimyo and unite the nation under one banner. You must balance the development of your fiefdomsโmanaging agriculture, trade, and the loyalty of your generalsโwith tactical warfare across the map. The default NES controls in your browser are mapped to the arrow keys for navigating menus and the map, with the Z and X keys replacing A and B to confirm and cancel orders. Enter and Shift act as Start and Select.
Strategy Tips
- Focus on agricultural development early in the game; a strong food supply is essential for maintaining large armies during extended campaigns.
- Keep a close eye on the loyalty of your subordinate generals. Reward them appropriately, as dissatisfied officers can rebel or be bribed by rival lords.
