Game description:

NFL Blitz brings Midway’s over-the-top arcade football action to the Nintendo 64. Released in 1997, this fast-paced sports game strips away the penalties, reduces play to seven-on-seven, and cranks up the aggression with late hits and physics-defying tackles.

The goal is to outscore your opponent in high-speed, four-quarter matches where first downs require 30 yards instead of 10. For Nintendo 64 controls mapped to the browser, use the arrow keys to move, Z to pass or switch players, X to jump or dive tackle, and Enter for turbo to sprint and execute harder hits.

Tips

  • Always conserve your turbo meter for critical moments, such as breaking a tackle or making a last-second dive into the end zone.
  • On defense, throwing a late hit after the whistle blows won’t draw a penalty and can help establish dominance.
  • Offensively, passing is heavily favored over running plays due to the massive 30-yard requirement for a first down.
