Monster Truck (Japan) is a 1990 Game Boy racing game developed by Another and published by Varie. Players get behind the wheel of a monster truck and work through a ten-course, all-American championship, winning races to earn prize money that goes toward upgrading the truck for tougher events ahead.
How to Play
The goal is to win races across all ten courses, spending the prize money from each victory on truck upgrades before facing stiffer competition later in the championship. Controls follow the standard Game Boy layout: the D-pad steers and controls throttle, the A and B buttons handle acceleration and braking, and Start pauses the race. In the browser, that maps to the arrow keys, Z/X, and Enter/Shift.
Tips
- Put your early winnings into upgrades — a stronger truck makes the later courses in the championship far more manageable.
- Treat the first few races as a way to build up your truck rather than rushing through them.
