Mappy is a classic 1984 NES action platformer originally developed by Namco for arcades. You play as Mappy, a Micro Police mouse tasked with recovering stolen electronics and valuables from a mansion inhabited by a gang of feline thieves known as the Meowkies and their boss, Goro.
How to Play
Your objective is to collect all the stolen items scattered across the mansion’s multiple floors before the timer runs out. You cannot jump directly; instead, you must use trampolines to move vertically between levels. While bouncing, Mappy is invulnerable to enemies. You can also open and close doors to knock back or stun pursuing cats. The game uses standard browser NES controls: Arrow keys for the D-pad to move and navigate floors, Z/X for the A/B buttons to open doors, Enter for Start, and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Do not bounce on the same trampoline more than three consecutive times; it will turn red and break on the fourth bounce, costing you a life.
- Flashing “microwave” doors emit a wave that sweeps across the screen, capturing all enemies in its path for bonus points. Use them when multiple cats are lined up.
- Grab items in pairs if you can. Collecting matching items back-to-back multiplies the points awarded.
