Game description:

Developed by Open Corp and published exclusively in South Korea by SIECO in 1994, Jang Pung 3 is a rare, unlicensed 2D fighting game for the Sega Master System. Unlike its predecessor, which functioned as a straightforward Street Fighter II bootleg, this third entry is an original title featuring its own eccentric story mode where fighters gather to defeat a cyborg named Sell. It stands out for providing a full fighting experience, complete with cutscenes, late in the 8-bit console’s lifespan.

How to Play

The objective is to deplete your opponent’s health bar across a series of one-on-one rounds. Use the D-pad (mapped to the Arrow Keys in your browser) to move, jump, and crouch, while the 1 and 2 buttons (Z and X) handle punches and kicks. Because the Master System controller only has two action buttons, executing special attacks relies on inputting specific directional motions just before pressing an attack button.

Tips

  • Spacing is key: Since normal attacks are limited to just two buttons, relying on well-timed jump kicks and sweeps is crucial for controlling the match pace.
  • Block often: Hold the D-pad away from your opponent to guard against incoming attacks, which is essential when the AI becomes aggressive in later tournament stages.
