Game description:

Jang Pung II is an unlicensed fighting game released in South Korea in 1993 for the Sega Master System. Developed by Sieco, the game is widely known among retro enthusiasts as a surprisingly ambitious 8-bit clone of Street Fighter II. It features a roster of martial artists, recognizable special moves, and one-on-one combat adapted for classic 8-bit hardware.

How to Play

Select your fighter and battle through a series of opponents to win the tournament. Using standard Sega Master System controls, use the D-pad (arrow keys) to move, jump, and crouch. Press Button 1 (Z key) to punch and Button 2 (X key) to kick. Press Pause (Enter) to pause the match. Special moves are performed using directional motions followed by an attack button.

Tips

  • The timing for special attack inputs can feel rigid compared to the arcade originals; execute the directional motions cleanly rather than rushing them.
  • Exploit the predictable AI of computer-controlled opponents by finding a reliable projectile pattern or anti-air attack that they struggle to defend against.
