Game description:

Released by Konami in 1992, Hexion is an engaging falling-block puzzle arcade game based on the indie hit Hextris. Instead of traditional square blocks, you manage falling hexagonal shapes on a honeycomb-style board, making quick strategic decisions to prevent the screen from filling up. Look out for fun cameos from classic Konami characters like TwinBee and Penta as you play!

How to Play

Your objective is to guide the falling hexagonal pieces and rotate them to form unbroken lines across the board. Because the grid is hexagonal, complete lines take on a unique zigzag pattern rather than a straight horizontal line.

  • Arrow Keys: Move pieces left or right, or push down to drop them faster.
  • Z / X: Rotate the falling pieces clockwise or counter-clockwise.
  • Enter / Shift: Insert coin and Start.

Tips

  • Pay close attention to the preview window showing the next piece. Planning ahead is crucial, especially as the drop speed increases.
  • When the board gets crowded, focus on clearing lines near the center. The hexagonal grid makes pieces pile up quickly in the middle, and freeing that space gives you more maneuvering room.
