Guerrilla War is an intense top-down action shooter released by SNK for the NES in 1987. Originally an arcade title, this port retains the frantic run-and-gun gameplay as you battle through a tropical island to overthrow a ruthless dictator. Known for its relentless enemy waves and heavy firepower, it also features a robust two-player co-op mode.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive the enemy onslaught, rescue hostages for bonus points, and defeat the boss at the end of each stage. You can commandeer tanks for extra armor and explosive shells. Move your character with the arrow keys. Press X to fire your primary weapon (A button) and Z to throw grenades (B button). Use Shift to Select and Enter to Start.
Tips
- Use Tanks Wisely: Tanks offer great protection and firepower, but you must exit before they explode from taking too much damage.
- Save Hostages: You lose score if you accidentally shoot hostages, so aim carefully when clearing enemies around them.
- Keep Moving: Standing still makes you an easy target for enemy grenades and sniper fire. Constantly strafe and reposition to avoid taking hits.
