Final Fantasy Legend II (originally part of the SaGa series in Japan) is a 1991 role-playing game developed by Square for the Game Boy. In this expansive adventure, you build a custom party to travel across diverse worlds in search of fragments of a powerful goddess known as MAGI.
How to Play
Your objective is to assemble a four-character party from different racesโHumans, Mutants, Monsters, or Robotsโeach possessing unique progression mechanics rather than traditional experience levels. Engage in frequent turn-based battles to grow stronger. The default browser controls map the Game Boy’s D-pad to the arrow keys, A/B to Z/X, and Start/Select to Enter/Shift.
Tips
- Balance Your Party: A diverse mix of races is highly recommended. Humans and Mutants offer excellent late-game potential, while Robots provide immediate versatility since their weapon durability recharges when resting at an inn.
- Grow Through Action: Stats increase based on the specific actions taken in combat. Using melee weapons boosts Strength, while casting magic increases Mana. Avoid running from fights so your characters can continuously improve.
- Optimize Robots: Because their equipped items dictate their stats and recharge automatically, equipping a Robot with multiple copies of the same weapon (like four agility-based rapiers) turns them into a powerful specialist early in the game.
