Cosmic Creeps is a two-part action shooter released by Telesys for the Atari 2600 in 1982. As an Orbinaut piloting a rescue ship, your mission is to save the Cosmic Kids stranded on a collapsing planet before it drops out of orbit.
How to Play
Gameplay alternates between two distinct phases. First, navigate your Orbinaut from the planet up to the space station while dodging moving streams of red plasma and Space Skeeters. Once docked, pilot your ship to blast pursuing Cosmic Creeps before they capture the escaping Cosmic Kids. Scoring 5,000 points before the planet disappears advances you to a faster level.
Controls in the browser emulator map the Atari joystick to the Arrow keys and the fire button to the Spacebar. Press F12 for Game Reset and F11 for Select.
Strategy Tips
- Avoid friendly fire: Misdirected shots hit Cosmic Kids instead of Creeps, which speeds up the planet’s orbital decay.
- Time your ascents: In the voyage phase, study the movement of the red plasma fields and move only through open gaps to avoid time-costly resets.
