Batman Returns for the Sega Genesis is a side-scrolling action game developed by Malibu Interactive and published by Konami in 1992, based on Tim Burton’s Batman Returns film. You play as Batman fighting through Gotham City against the Penguin’s Red Triangle Circus Gang across stages drawn from the movie.
How to play
Batman advances left to right through each stage, taking down waves of enemies with punches, kicks, and jumping attacks. The Batarang lets you hit threats at range when wading in is too risky. Platforming stretches between combat sections demand precise jumps — a missed ledge costs a life. A boss encounter from the film’s cast waits at the end of each stage.

Tips
- Collect health restoratives whenever they appear — arriving at a boss depleted is rarely survivable.
- Save Batarangs for airborne or tightly-grouped enemies that are difficult to reach on foot.
- Boss fights reward patience: watch the attack cycle once before committing, then strike during the opening.
