Game description:

Ys: Wanderers from Ys is a classic side-scrolling action role-playing game developed by Nihon Falcom and released for the Sega Genesis in 1991. Departing from the top-down bump-combat of previous entries, this third installment follows swordsman Adol Christin and his companion Dogi as they arrive in the land of Felghana to investigate mysterious monster outbreaks and political turmoil surrounding Castle Valestein.

How to Play

Guide Adol through side-scrolling levels, defeating monsters, equipping weapons and armor, and using magical rings. Use the browser controls below to navigate and fight:

  • Movement / Crouch: Arrow Keys
  • Attack: Z (A Button)
  • Jump: X (B Button)
  • Inventory / Ring Selection: C (C Button) or Enter (Start)

Tips

  • Grind early around Redmont: Enemy damage scales quickly in new areas, so gain a few levels and buy upgraded gear in town before entering Tigray Quarry.
  • Manage Ring Power: Magical rings boost attack or defense but consume Ring Power; reserve ring usage for tough boss battles.
  • Crouch attack: Striking while crouched helps hit low-lying monsters and avoid incoming projectile hitboxes.
