World Class Leaderboard Golf is a classic sports simulation released for the Sega Genesis in 1992. Ported from the popular computer series, this golf game offers four challenging 18-hole courses, including St. Andrews and Doral Country Club. It features a realistic approach to the sport for its time, requiring players to account for wind, club selection, and swing mechanics to master the fairways.
How to Play
The objective is to complete each course with the lowest score possible by carefully planning each shot. You’ll need to select the appropriate club, aim your shot, and use the swing meter to determine power and accuracy.
- Arrow Keys: Aim your shot, select clubs, and navigate menus
- Z / X / C: Start your swing, set the power, and set the snap (accuracy)
- Enter: Pause or access the in-game menu
Tips
- Pay close attention to the wind indicator on the screen; a strong crosswind will drastically alter your ball’s trajectory.
- When completing your swing, try to stop the meter exactly on the “snap” line. Missing this line will cause your shot to hook or slice.
- On the putting green, carefully read the slope indicators to judge how much the ball will break before it reaches the hole.
