Twisted Metal for the PlayStation is the pioneering vehicular combat game that launched the legendary series. How to Play
Your objective is to destroy all rival vehicles in the arena while managing your armor and ammunition. You steer and drive your vehicle using the directional pad. Fire your machine guns to chip away at enemies, and pick up colored weapon icons scattered around the map to arm yourself with homing missiles, fire missiles, mines, and freeze blasts. Cycle through your active weapons and use your vehicle’s unique special attack to deal massive damage.
Tips
- Learn your vehicle’s strengths. Sweet Tooth has a devastating special attack but is a large target, while Crimson Fury is lightning fast but lacks armor.
- Keep moving and make use of the terrain. The arenas are filled with hidden areas, ramps, and health pick-ups (look for the white crosses) that are crucial for surviving against multiple opponents.
- Conserve your special weapons for when you have a clear shot, as missing can leave you vulnerable during the cooldown.
