Game description:

Trinity is an ambitious interactive fiction title written by Brian Moriarty and published by Infocom in 1986. Originally released for DOS, this text adventure begins with an American tourist caught in a sudden nuclear attack on London. Instead of perishing, you escape into a surreal alternate dimension known as The Wabe. From this strange hub world, you must step through magical doors into different time periods to visit pivotal moments in the history of atomic weapons.

How to play

Your overarching objective is to navigate various Time Caves connected to The Wabe, gathering the specific items and knowledge required to influence the dawn of the atomic age. The game relies entirely on a text parser, meaning you type English commands like “go north,” “take umbrella,” or “read book” to explore the world and solve puzzles.

Control:

Game is controlled by the same keys that are used to playing under MS DOS. For fullscreen press ‘Right Alt’ + ‘Enter’.

Tips

  • Trinity can be unforgiving with its fail states, so save your progress frequently in case you lose a crucial item or make a fatal error.
  • Pay close attention to every description starting from the opening in Kensington Gardens; seemingly mundane objects encountered early on are often vital for surviving later puzzles.
