TNN Bass Tournament of Champions is a classic fishing simulator released for the SNES in 1994 by Gaps. It brings the competitive world of professional bass fishing to the 16-bit era, challenging players to navigate various lakes, select the right lures, and manage their time to weigh in the heaviest catch. With weather conditions and seasonal changes affecting fish behavior, it offers a thoughtful angling experience.
How to play
Your objective is to catch the largest total weight of bass within the tournament time limit. Use the D-pad (mapped to the arrow keys) to navigate your boat on the overhead map and aim your casts. The A and B buttons (Z and X) are used to cast your line, reel in, and set the hook when you get a bite. Press Start (Enter) to pause and access your tackle box to change lures.
Tips
- Pay close attention to the weather and water temperature; topwater lures work better in warmer conditions, while deep-diving crankbaits are essential when it’s cold.
- Don’t waste too much time in one spot if you aren’t getting bites. Use your boat to cover different structures like drop-offs and submerged timber where bass tend to hide.
