Tecmo NBA Basketball is a classic sports title released for the NES in 1992. Developed by Tecmo, it successfully adapted the fast-paced, accessible formula of their hit football games to the basketball court. The game features the official NBA license, complete with real teams and player rosters from the 1991-1992 season, and is famous for its signature cinematic cutscenes that trigger during slam dunks, three-pointers, and key defensive plays.
How to Play
Choose your favorite NBA team and outscore your opponent in full seasons or exhibition matches. The standard NES controls use the D-pad to move your players. On offense, press A to pass the ball and B to shoot. On defense, press A to switch to the player closest to the ball and B to attempt a steal or block a shot. In the browser, these controls are mapped to the arrow keys for movement, Z and X for the A and B actions, and Enter for Start.
