Street Heroes is an unlicensed NES release of the classic 2-on-2 sports game Nekketsu Street Basket: Ganbare Dunk Heroes. This over-the-top arcade title brings Kunio-kun and his friends to a global street basketball tournament, throwing standard rules out the window in favor of high-energy action, physical combat, and a chaotic multi-hoop scoring system.
How to Play
In this no-holds-barred tournament, your goal is to outscore the opposing team by any means necessary. Each backboard features three separate hoops, allowing for massive scoring opportunities if you can sink a shot into the highest basket. In the browser, use the arrow keys to move your players. On offense, use X to pass and Z to shoot. On defense, use X to jump or block, and Z to punch, kick, or use weapons to steal the ball from your opponents. Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Aim high: The three-tiered backboards award different points. Sinking the ball into the top hoop yields the highest score, so line up your shots carefully.
- Play dirty: There are no fouls in street basketball. Pick up weapons scattered across the court to knock down your opponents and secure an easy steal.
- Reattach broken hoops: If a basket gets knocked off the backboard during a rough play, pick it up and attach it to your opponent’s side to create even more scoring targets for your team.
