Game description:

Street Fighter Zero (specifically the 950627 Japan revision) is a 1995 arcade 2D fighting game developed by Capcom. Known internationally as Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors’ Dreams, it serves as a prequel to Street Fighter II. It introduces a younger cast of martial artists, a vibrant anime-inspired art style, and new gameplay mechanics like air blocking, chain combos, and a multi-level Super Combo gauge.

How to play

The objective is to deplete your opponent’s health bar to win two out of three rounds in one-on-one combat. As an arcade game, it uses an eight-way joystick and a six-button layout (three punches and three kicks). In the browser, movement is mapped to the arrow keys, with action buttons typically on A, S, D, Z, X, and C. Press Shift to insert a virtual coin and Enter to start.

Tips

  • Use the Zero Counter: While blocking an attack, press forward and a punch or kick button of the same strength to immediately counterattack, costing one level of your Super gauge.
  • Air blocking: Unlike earlier games, you can block while jumping. Use this to safely approach opponents who rely on projectiles or predictable anti-air attacks.
