Released by Capcom in 1993, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting brings the blistering speed and expanded movesets of the arcade update to the Super Nintendo. This definitive 16-bit iteration of the foundational fighting game features playable boss characters, new special moves for the original cast, and a signature Turbo mode that dramatically increases the pace of the matches.
How to Play
Choose one of the twelve World Warriors and battle through a global tournament to face the Shadaloo dictator, M. Bison. Move, jump, and crouch using the arrow keys. The SNES action buttons map to your keyboard as follows: press A for Light Punch, S for Medium Punch, and Q for Heavy Punch. For kicks, use Z for Light Kick, X for Medium Kick, and W for Heavy Kick. Press Enter to Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Defend yourself: Hold the directional pad (arrow keys) away from your opponent to block incoming attacks. Remember to block low to defend against sweeps.
- Master special moves: Inputs like Ryu’s Hadoken (Down, Down-Forward, Forward + Punch) or Guile’s Sonic Boom (Hold Back, then Forward + Punch) are crucial for controlling the space on the screen.
- Adjust the speed: If the default Hyper Fighting pace feels too overwhelming, you can easily lower the game speed in the options menu before starting arcade mode.
