Game description:

Released by Capcom for the SNES in 1992, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting brought the blistering speed of the arcade update into players’ homes. This defining 16-bit fighting game dramatically increases the tempo over its predecessors while giving new special moves to the original world warriors, such as Chun-Li’s fireball and Dhalsim’s teleport, and making the four Grand Masters fully playable from the start.

How to play

Choose from twelve fighters from around the globe and defeat every opponent in a best-of-three martial arts tournament, culminating in a final showdown against M. Bison. Mastering your chosen character’s unique special moves and timing is essential to clearing the arcade mode or defeating a second player in versus mode.

Tips

  • Master the fireball motion: Ryu and Ken’s Hadouken requires a smooth quarter-circle forward motion (↓, ↘, →) followed immediately by a punch button. Practice this until it becomes muscle memory.
  • Use light attacks to interrupt: Because the game plays so fast, using quick, light punches and kicks is an effective way to interrupt incoming heavy attacks and grab attempts.
  • Adjust the speed: If the hyper fighting speed is too overwhelming at first, you can adjust the turbo speed setting in the game’s options menu before starting a match.
