Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors’ Dreams is a 1995 arcade fighting game developed by Capcom. As a prequel to Street Fighter II, it introduces a younger roster of characters and brings a vibrant, anime-inspired art style to the legendary series. The game debuted several mechanics that would become staples of the franchise, including air blocking, chain combos, and the three-level Super Combo gauge.
How to Play
The objective is to defeat your opponent in best-of-three rounds using a combination of normal attacks, special moves, and devastating Super Combos. By default for arcade games, insert a coin with Shift, press Enter to start, move your character using the Arrow Keys, and use Z, X, C, A, S, D for your six-button attacks (punches and kicks).
Tips
- Manage your Super Combo gauge: Build meter by performing special moves and landing attacks. You can choose to spend it on a Level 1, 2, or 3 Super Combo depending on how many levels are filled.
- Use Alpha Counters: While blocking an attack, quickly press quarter-circle forward and a punch or kick of the same strength to interrupt an opponent’s offensive pressure and create an opening.
- Air blocking: Take advantage of air blocking to defend against projectiles and anti-air attacks while jumping in on your opponent.
