Street Fighter Alpha 3 is a landmark 1998 2D fighting game by Capcom for the Arcade. As the massive final installment of the Alpha series, it overhauled the fighting system by introducing the “ISM” system, allowing players to choose between three distinct playing styles (A-ism, X-ism, and V-ism) that alter how their super meter functions. This release features an expanded roster of world warriors alongside returning classics, offering some of the deepest mechanics and most refined pixel art of the era.
How to Play
Select your fighter and your preferred ISM style, then battle through a series of opponents to reach the final boss, M. Bison. In the browser emulator, use Shift (or 5) to insert a coin and Enter (or 1) to start. Move and jump using the Arrow keys, and unleash attacks with Z, X, and C for your primary punches and kicks.
Tips
- Choose Your ISM Carefully: A-ism provides standard multi-level supers, X-ism gives you one powerful single-level super and higher base damage, and V-ism lets you create custom combo sequences.
- Guard Crush: Keep an eye on your opponent’s Guard Power Gauge beneath their health bar. Repeatedly attacking a blocking opponent will deplete it, eventually causing a Guard Crush that leaves them completely vulnerable.
- Air Recovery: You can recover in mid-air after taking a hit by pressing two punch buttons simultaneously, which helps you escape juggle combos and reset your position safely.
