🎮 Play Snake Rattle N Roll Online (NES)

Developed by Rare and released in 1990, Snake Rattle N Roll is a challenging isometric action-platformer for the NES. Players control one of two snakes—Rattle or Roll—navigating surreal, trap-filled landscapes while gobbling up colourful creatures to grow larger.

How to play

Your objective in each level is to eat enough Nibbley Pibbleys to make your snake heavy enough to trigger the weight scale, which unlocks the exit door. Navigate the 3D terrain using the arrow keys, press Z to flick your tongue to attack or eat, and press X to jump. The game can also be played in two-player cooperative mode.

Tips

• Use your shadow: Judging jumps in an isometric perspective can be difficult. Keep an eye on your snake’s shadow to see exactly where you will land.
• Rebuild your tail: Taking damage causes you to lose tail segments. If you get hit when you only have a head, you lose a life, so prioritize eating to regain your length immediately after getting hurt.
