Developed by Rare, Ltd. and released for the NES in 1987, Slalom is a fast-paced downhill skiing sports game. You race against the clock down a series of increasingly difficult mountains, weaving between gates and dodging hazards to cross the finish line before time expires.
How to play
Your goal is to reach the bottom of the mountain within the time limit. Steer between the flags to maintain your speed, and avoid crashing into trees, snowmen, sledders, or other skiers. Use the arrow keys to steer, accelerate (Up), and brake (Down). Press Z or X to jump over obstacles and moguls.

Tips
- Pushing Up to tuck increases your speed significantly, but reduces your turning control. Save it for straightaways and clear paths.
- Jump over the mogul bumps using Z or X to avoid losing your balance and tumbling.
- While missing a gate won’t disqualify you, passing cleanly between the flags is essential for maintaining your momentum and beating the strict timer.
