Game description:

Search Eye is a 1999 arcade hidden-object game developed and published by the Korean company Yun Sung. Rather than fighting or racing, you hunt for a list of objects concealed within large, cluttered scenes rendered in a scanned, comic-strip art style, working through 70 stages of pictures.

How to Play

Each stage shows a list of objects at the side of the screen; move the cursor over a hidden item and press the button to mark it before the timer runs out. The challenge escalates every few stages, from four hidden items up to as many as seven, and many objects are deliberately tricky to spot, looking quite different from their small reference icon on the list. Search Eye also breaks up the hunting with bonus minigames, including a memory-matching round with monkeys and a shooting-gallery challenge. In the browser, move the cursor with the arrow keys and press Z to select an object; use Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start.

Tips

  • Look past the icon: hidden objects often only loosely resemble their thumbnail in the list, so scan for a matching shape or color rather than an exact copy.
  • Don’t guess wildly: selecting the wrong spot costs you, so confirm an item before clicking rather than sweeping the cursor across the scene.
  • Enjoy the minigames: the monkey-matching and shooting-gallery bonus rounds break up the search stages and are worth playing carefully for the extra score.
