Released in 1982 by Sega for the arcade, Pengo is an inventive maze puzzle game where you control a resourceful red penguin surviving a board made entirely of ice. Instead of simply running away, you actively alter the level layout by shoving the ice blocks to crush the pursuing Sno-Bees and clear new escape routes.
How to Play
Your objective is to eliminate every Sno-Bee on the screen to advance to the next level. You can eliminate them by pushing an ice block so it slides across the screen to crush them, or by running over them while they are temporarily stunned.
- Arrow Keys: Move Pengo
- Action (Z, X, or Space): Push an ice block or kick a wall
Tips
- Line up the diamonds: Every level contains three indestructible diamond blocks. If you manage to arrange all three in a straight row, you will be awarded a massive point bonus and temporarily stun all active Sno-Bees.
- Stun against walls: If you are trapped near the edge of the board, push your action button while pushing against the outer wall. The resulting vibration will briefly stun any Sno-Bees currently touching that wall, allowing you to safely walk over and crush them.
