Parallel World is an overhead real-time puzzle game released for the NES (Famicom) in 1990 by Varie, presented here with PentarouZero’s English translation patch. Players control a pair of characters who have been transported to an alternate universe and must navigate 25 distinct puzzle-filled worlds within a giant castle to find their way home. The game supports both single-player and two-player cooperative play.
How to Play
Your objective is to solve each room’s puzzle and reach the exit before the 100-second timer runs out. You must avoid or destroy enemies like springs, rollers, and zombies to survive, as touching them or running out of time costs a life. Use the D-pad (arrow keys) to move and the A and B buttons (Z and X) to attack and interact. In co-op mode, player one controls the boy and player two controls the girl.
Tips
Keep a close eye on the 100-second timer, as it depletes quickly; survey the room’s layout before committing to a path. Try to clear out enemies early in a stage when possible, as they can easily trap you in narrow puzzle corridors.
