Released by Capcom in 1990, Pajama Hero – Nemo is the Japanese Famicom version of the beloved platformer known in the West as Little Nemo: The Dream Master. You play as Nemo, a young boy journeying through Slumberland, who must navigate challenging dreamscapes by feeding candy to various animals. Once pacified, Nemo can ride or inhabit these creatures to gain their unique abilities, which are essential for solving each level’s platforming puzzles and reaching the exit.
How to Play
The goal of each stage is to collect a specific number of keys hidden throughout the level to unlock the exit door. You will need to use animal abilitiesโsuch as the frog’s high jump, the lizard’s wall-climbing, or the mole’s diggingโto reach them. The game uses standard NES controls, which are mapped to your keyboard: use the Arrow Keys for the D-pad to move, Z and X for the A and B buttons (to jump and throw candy), and Enter and Shift for Start and Select.
Tips
Keep a close eye out for the Gorilla and the Bee; the Gorilla’s powerful punch is excellent for clearing out tough enemies, while the Bee allows you to fly over difficult sections. Do not rush through levels, as keys are often hidden in alcoves that require you to backtrack slightly with a newly acquired animal companion. Finally, remember that you can dismount an animal at any time if you need Nemo’s smaller size to fit through tight spaces.
