P.O.W. – Prisoners of War is a side-scrolling beat ’em up developed by SNK and released for the NES in 1989. Ported from the popular arcade original, you play as a captive soldier fighting your way out of a heavily armed enemy camp, using hand-to-hand combat and any weapons you can scavenge along the way.
How to Play
Your objective is to fight through each stage, defeat the boss at the end, and ultimately escape the enemy base. Use the Arrow Keys to move, Z and X to punch and kick, and Enter to start or pause the game. You can execute a jump attack by pressing both attack buttons together.
Tips
- Be sure to enter the open huts scattered throughout the levels. Defeating the enemies inside often rewards you with powerful upgrades like brass knuckles for double damage or armor to reduce the damage you take.
- Keep an eye out for enemies dropping machine guns or knives. Securing a weapon makes clearing out crowded screens much easier.
