Game description:

On the Ball is a fast-paced action and puzzle game developed by Taito and released for the SNES in 1992. Known as Cameltry in Japanese arcades, it flips the standard maze formula on its head: instead of steering the character, you rotate the entire maze around a free-falling ball to let gravity pull it toward the goal. Navigating the twisting corridors under a strict time limit requires quick reflexes and a good sense of momentum as you try to reach the exit before the clock hits zero.

How to Play

Your objective is to guide the ball to the “GOAL” within the time limit. You can rotate the maze left and right, and use the dash button to make the ball fall faster. In the browser, standard SNES controls apply: use the Arrow keys for the D-pad, Z, X, A, S for the A, B, X, and Y buttons, Q and W for the L and R triggers, and Enter/Shift for Start and Select.

Tips

  • Target the time blocks: Smashing through blocks marked with a number (like +2 or +5) adds precious seconds to your clock.
  • Avoid the penalties: Hitting the skull blocks will deduct time, so navigate around them carefully.
  • Manage your speed: Hold the dash button on long straightaways to shave off seconds, but let go before sharp turns to avoid ricocheting out of control.
