Game description:

Momoko 120% Bootleg is an unlicensed, English-translated hack of Jaleco’s Momoko 120%, a platform game released for Japanese arcades in August 1986. The original was planned as a tie-in with the anime Urusei Yatsura, and though the license fell through and the cast was swapped out, Jaleco kept the show’s opening theme looping through the game anyway. Players guide the young Momoko racing up the floors of a burning building, dodging flames and blasting alien-like enemies with an upgradable weapon, aging from a four-year-old to a bride across five stages as she climbs. It sold well enough in Japan to land among the top ten arcade earners for October 1986. This bootleg, run on Arcade hardware, is the only known English-language version of an otherwise Japan-exclusive release, translating the on-screen text (aside from a title screen that stays in Japanese) and shipping with a brighter color palette and different default high scores.

How to Play

Climb each floor by escalator, ladder, or trampoline and reach the top to leap onto the waiting blimp and advance to the next stage, all while dodging fire from below and shooting down enemies in your path; hidden doorways along the way hide bonus minigames and shortcuts.

Controls: Arrow keys move and jump Momoko across platforms, Z fires her weapon, X handles the secondary action, Enter starts a game (1 or 2 players, alternating), and Shift inserts a coin.
