Metal Combat: Falcon’s Revenge is a sci-fi mech shooter released by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993. Serving as the direct sequel to Battle Clash, this light gun game puts you back in the gunner seat of the ST Falcon. You must battle through a series of one-on-one mech duels against the ruthless chiefs of the Battle Game, utilizing precision aiming and energy management to exploit enemy weak points.
How to play
Your objective is to defeat each opposing Standing Tank (ST) before your own takes too much damage or the timer runs out. Originally designed for the Super Scope peripheral, the browser emulator maps the crosshairs and firing controls to your mouse. Left-click fires rapid energy shots to intercept incoming projectiles, while holding the button charges a powerful blast needed to damage enemy mechs. Right-click (or sometimes the spacebar) activates your limited supply of screen-clearing bombs.
Tips
- Charge your shots: Rapid fire is mostly useful for destroying incoming missiles or breaking enemy shields. To deal actual damage, wait for your energy meter to fill completely before firing.
- Target weak points: Every enemy ST has a specific weak point, often briefly exposed during their attack animations. Hitting these areas deals massive damage and interrupts their offensive patterns.
- Manage your bombs: You only have a few bombs per stage. Save them for unavoidable screen-filling attacks or when you desperately need breathing room.
