Game description:

Magical Taruruuto-kun 2: Mahou Daibouken is an action-platformer developed by TOSE and published by Bandai for the NES in 1992. Based on the popular manga and anime series, this Japan-exclusive sequel changes up the gameplay from the first entry. Instead of attacking with his tongue, Taruruuto now fights enemies with his hands and can explore various worlds via a map-based level selection system. It retains the bright, colorful art style of the anime while delivering classic side-scrolling platforming action.

How to Play

Navigate through the levels, defeat enemies, and collect power-ups to progress. In the browser, the standard NES controls apply: use the Arrow keys to move, Z to jump (A button), and X to attack (B button). Enter acts as Start and Shift as Select.

Tips

  • Use Projectiles: You can interact with various objects in the environment to turn them into projectile weapons. Throwing these at enemies is often safer and more effective than getting close for a melee attack.
  • Save Your Magic: Magic abilities and attacks are typically single-use. Conserve them for tougher sections or boss fights rather than wasting them on common enemies.
  • Hunt for Chests: Always break open chests when you spot them. They contain essential power-ups like extra health, magic refills, and 1-Ups that will make your platforming journey much easier.
