Game description:

Lunar Pool is a unique spin on billiards, released for the NES in 1987. Instead of standard rectangular tables, you play across increasingly complex, irregularly shaped boards ranging from simple polygons to intricate star shapes. By clearing all the numbered balls into pockets using the cue ball, you progress through 60 distinct levels.

How to Play

The objective is to pocket every coloured ball on the table before you run out of lives (cues). If you fail to pot a ball on three consecutive shots, or if you sink the cue ball, you lose a life.

Controls: Use the D-pad (Arrow keys) to aim your shot, then press the A button (Z key) to set your power and shoot. The longer you hold the button, the harder you hit the cue ball.

Tips

  • Take advantage of the friction setting; lowering it makes the balls travel much further, which is useful for clearing multiple balls on a single shot.
  • Plan ahead to avoid scratching (sinking the cue ball). Due to the strange angles of the tables, the cue ball can often bounce unpredictably into a pocket.
