Lunar Ball is a pocket-billiards game for the NES, published by Pony Canyon in 1985. Viewed from above, you line up each shot with a rotating cue, dial in the power, and try to sink all the balls across a series of progressively tricky tables. The space-age name is mostly aesthetic — the gameplay is pure pool, lean and without distraction.
How to play
Use the arrow keys to aim the cue direction. Press X (NES A button) to shoot — hold it to build power, release to strike. Z (NES B) handles secondary actions such as cancelling or switching modes. Enter starts the game and Shift acts as Select.
Tips
- Resist the temptation to shoot full-power every time — controlled, medium-force shots leave the cue ball in a useful position for the next one.
- When a direct path to the pocket is blocked, aim for a cushion bank and use the table edge as an ally.
