Game description:

Killer Instinct is a classic fighting game released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. Developed by Rare, it brought the hit arcade experience to home consoles, standing out with its revolutionary pre-rendered 3D graphics and high-energy electronic soundtrack. Players choose from a diverse roster of combatantsโ€”including a cybernetic raptor, an icy alien, and an ancient skeletonโ€”battling in intense, fast-paced tournament matches.

The objective is to deplete your opponent’s two life bars using a mix of special moves and the game’s signature automated combo system. The SNES controls use the D-pad to move, jump, and block, along with a six-button attack layout: L, Y, and X for punches, and R, B, and A for kicks. When playing in the browser, movement is typically mapped to the arrow keys, with attacks mapped to the keyboard’s A, Z, S, X, Q, and W keys, plus Enter and Shift for Start and Select.

To succeed, focus on understanding the combo flow rather than mashing buttons. Learn your character’s combo openers, auto-doubles, and linkers to string together massive damage. Equally critical is learning the combo breakers; inputting a special move command with the corresponding attack strength will instantly interrupt your opponent’s assault and trigger the iconic “C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!” voice line.
