Kaijuu Monogatari (also known as Shell Monsters Story) is a classic 1988 role-playing game for the NES, presented here with KingMike’s English translation. What sets this RPG apart from its contemporaries is its ambitious multi-character structure: you control four distinct heroes who start in different corners of the world map. You must switch between them, navigating their individual starting journeys and surviving independently until you can finally bring the party together to face the evil demon king, Fat Badger.

How to Play

As a traditional turn-based RPG, gameplay focuses on exploring the overworld, battling monsters, and levelling up your party. Since this is an NES title, use the Arrow Keys for movement, Z for the A button (confirm/interact), X for the B button (cancel/back), and Enter/Shift for Start and Select to manage your party menus.
