Game description:

Jeopardy! Junior Edition is a trivia game released for the NES in 1989, adapting the classic television game show format for a younger audience. Developed by Rare and published by GameTek, it features kid-friendly player avatars and focuses on topics like pop culture, school subjects, and basic history rather than the challenging trivia found in the standard versions. Up to three players can compete in standard Jeopardy, Double Jeopardy, and Final Jeopardy rounds, buzzing in to provide the correct question to the given answer.

How to Play

The objective is to finish the game with the most money by correctly answering trivia questions. Use the D-pad (mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys) to select categories and type out your answers on the in-game keyboard. Press the A button (typically the X key) to buzz in and confirm your letter selections, while the B button (Z key) allows you to delete mistakes. You can play against human opponents or CPU contestants.

Tips

  • When spelling your answers, you don’t need to type the full “What is” or “Who is” prefix; the game handles that automatically so you just need to spell the core answer.
  • Take your time when typing. There is a time limit, but a single typo will result in a wrong answer and a penalty to your score.
  • If you’re playing against the CPU and don’t know the answer, let them buzz in firstโ€”they will sometimes guess incorrectly, saving you from a penalty.
