Jackal is a classic top-down run-and-gun arcade game released by Konami in 1986. You take control of an armed jeep, infiltrating hostile territory to rescue prisoners of war and escort them to extraction helicopters. How to Play
Your objective is to navigate through heavily defended enemy compounds, rescue POWs from localized buildings, and drop them off safely at helipads. Once your jeep drops off rescued prisoners, you can proceed to the area boss.
In the browser, use the Arrow Keys to drive your jeep. Press Z to fire your heavy machine gun (which always shoots forward) and press X to throw grenades or launch missiles in the direction you are facing. Use Shift to insert coins and Enter to start.
Tips
- Upgrade your weapons: Rescuing a flashing POW or multiple regular prisoners will upgrade your grenade attack to a powerful missile launcher with splash damage.
- Keep moving: Enemy fire is constant. Constantly changing your direction helps you dodge incoming bullets and tanks.
- Shoot everything: Many structures and vehicles conceal enemies or hazards. Clear the screen of threats before focusing on rescuing the POWs.
