The Itchy & Scratchy Game is an unreleased action platformer for the Sega Genesis, originally slated for a 1995 release. Based on the hyper-violent cartoon from The Simpsons, players take control of Itchy the mouse as he hunts down Scratchy the cat through various trap-filled levels. Although it was never officially published for the Genesis, this leaked prototype offers a fully playable glimpse into its frantic, slapstick gameplay.
How to Play
Your objective is to navigate the levels, pick up various destructive weapons, and deplete Scratchy’s health bar while avoiding his counter-attacks and environmental hazards. You can play directly in your browser using the default Genesis controls: use the Arrow Keys to move, Z, X, and C to jump and attack, and Enter to start or pause the game.
Tips
- Always be on the lookout for weapon pickups, as your default attacks have very short range and deal minimal damage.
- Scratchy will actively try to avoid you and set traps, so try to corner him or attack from a distance when possible.
