Released by Nintendo for the NES in 1985, Gyromite is a puzzle-platformer originally designed to showcase the R.O.B. accessory. You control Professor Hector as he navigates a multi-level laboratory, tasked with collecting bundles of dynamite before the timer expires. The game’s defining mechanic involves raising and lowering colored pillars to create paths and block enemies, requiring both careful routing and precise execution.
How to play
The objective is to collect all the dynamite in each phase to proceed. Professor Hector cannot jump, so navigating the laboratory requires strategic use of the red and blue pillars.

Tips
- Pick up the radishes scattered around the laboratory to drop and distract the wandering Smick enemies, allowing you to safely slip past them.
- Study the layout of the pillars before you commit to a route; getting trapped by a descending pillar usually costs a life.
