Great Golf (originally released as Masters Golf in Japan) is a classic 1987 sports simulation game developed by Sega for the Sega Master System. As part of Sega’s early “Great Sports” series, it offers players a chance to experience 18 holes of strategic gameplay, managing clubs, wind speed, and terrain to secure the best score on the green.
The goal is to complete the 18-hole course with the lowest possible stroke count. For the Master System controls in your browser, use the Arrow keys (D-pad) to aim your shot and select your club, Z or X (Buttons 1/2) to control your swing power and accuracy, and Enter to start the game.
Pay close attention to the wind indicator before taking a shot, as it will significantly alter your ball’s trajectory. When putting on the green, be mindful of your power meter; overpowering your shot is a common way to overshoot the hole.
