Strike Dash in Sonic 2 SMS is a ROM hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Master System that introduces the Strike Dash mechanic. Originally featured in Sonic Chaos, the Strike Dash allows Sonic to wind up and launch forward with a burst of speed from a standing position. Adding this move to the 8-bit version of Sonic 2 significantly alters the flow of the game, making exploration and speedruns much more dynamic.
How to Play
Your objective is to navigate the challenging zones, collect rings, and stop Dr. Robotnik. To perform the Strike Dash, hold Up and press the jump button while standing still. For the Sega Master System, the default browser controls are the arrow keys for movement, Z or X to jump (mapping to buttons 1 and 2), and Enter to start or pause the game.
Tips
The Strike Dash is excellent for instantly reaching top speed, which helps with climbing steep hills and clearing long jumps. Just be careful not to dash recklessly into unknown areas where badniks or spikes might be waiting just off-screen.
