Bank Panic is a 1987 arcade-style shooter for the Sega SG-1000, developed by Sanritsu Denki. As a sheriff defending a twelve-door bank, you must protect innocent customers making deposits while quick-drawing against masked robbers who appear without warning.
How to play
The objective is to secure a deposit at all twelve doors to clear the level. Three doors are visible on screen at once. Use the Left and Right arrow keys to scroll between them, and the Z or X keys (the SG-1000’s A and B buttons) to fire your weapon at the corresponding door. Press Enter to start or reset the game.
Tips
- Pay attention to the indicators at the top of the screen; they alert you to which doors currently have someone waiting so you know exactly where to scroll next.
- Do not fire blindly as the doors open. Wait a split second to identify the character, as shooting an innocent customer or the messenger boy will cost you a life.
- Some robbers will use a delayed draw or hide behind customers, requiring careful timing to defeat without hitting civilians.
