Golf is a top-down sports game published by Atari, Inc. for the Atari 2600 in 1980. One of the earliest console golf titles, it puts one or two players on a nine-hole course and tasks them with finishing under par using the joystick alone.
How to play
Push the joystick in the direction you want the ball to travel, then press the trigger to swing. The rough reduces shot distance compared to the fairway, so keeping the ball on short grass makes a real difference. Two players compete in alternating turns.
