Ghostbusters is a 1984 action and resource management game released by Activision for the NES. Based on the hit movie, you start by purchasing a vehicle, equipping it with ghost-catching gear, and driving around a grid-like city map to respond to paranormal emergencies. The gameplay blends business management with action sequences where you position two Ghostbusters to corral and trap spirits, aiming to earn enough money to enter the Zuul building before the city’s PK energy meter maxes out.
How to play
Navigate the city map to reach locations with active ghosts. In the catching phase, position your two Ghostbusters and activate their proton beams to herd the ghost into a deployed trap.

Tips
- Purchase the Ghost Vacuum for your vehicle; sucking up roamers on the driving map keeps the city’s PK energy level from rising too fast.
- Save a significant portion of your starting loan for traps and essential equipment instead of blowing it all on the most expensive car.
- In the ghost-catching sequences, place your Ghostbusters as far apart as possible to create a wide net, making it much easier to guide the erratic ghost directly over the trap.
